That's Lit with Shazzie Dee

Learning how to swim as an adult with A Splash of Colour Swimming

Shazzie Dee Season 6 Episode 6

Ennia Jones is the founder of A Splash of Colour Swimming, a program that helps adults from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds learn how to swim in a safe, trauma-informed and culturally respectful way. Her not-for-profit organisation has grown from just 20 participants, to having more than 400 people go through the program in one term.

In this episode of That’s Lit, Ennia discusses why she started the program, what it involves, and her own experience learning to swim in Zimbabwe. She also shares her ultimate goal of breaking down the barriers preventing people from CALD backgrounds learning how to swim.
